Mrs. Loraine C. Hargett, 84, of Frederick, died on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at her residence. She was the wife of Vernon M. Flook, who passed away on Oct. 30, 2004 after 12 years of marriage. Her previous husband, Earl Fenton Hargett Sr., passed away Oct. 30, 1984, and they had been married for 45 years prior to his death. Born May 16, 1921 in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of the late Charles Lauran and Anna Mary Rudisill Stotler. Mrs. Hargett was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Frederick, and was also a member of the Ballenger Homemakers Club, the Ballenger Grange #341, and was an avid bingo player. In earlier years, she worked with her husband in their construction company as office manager and bookkeeper at Catoctin Estates, and for many years had been a loving wife and homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Earl F. Hargett Jr. and wife Belva of Frederick; three stepdaughters, Elizabeth H. Hooper and Irene G. Leatherman, both of Frederick, Darlene Kennedy of Jefferson; three stepsons, Vernon Flook, Darryl Flook and Stephen Flook, all of Frederick; grandchildren, Catherine Lenhart and husband Harold, Cheryl Henman and husband Clyde, Crystal Schleupner and husband Kevin, all of Frederick, and Earl L. Hargett of Davenport, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Kayla Jean Schleupner of Frederick; 12 step-grandchildren; and numerous great-stepgrandchildren and great-great-stepgrandchildren. She is also survived by seven brothers, Charles L. Stotler of Charles Town, W.Va., William E. Stotler, Joseph R. Stotler, both of Boonsboro, Clyde N. Stotler and George F. Stotler of Fairplay, Md., Howard D. Stotler of Keedysville and Harold L. Stotler of Hagerstown; two sisters, Audrey D. Lowery of Pierpont, Ohio and Betty J. Flook of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Doris M. Rutherford, Edgar T. Stotlet, Richard D. Stotler, Robert M. Stotler, Marie J. Stotler, and an infant brother. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at the Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, from the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
