Obituary:

Loudoun Telephone, December 26, 1890. Israel Virts at his residence in Waterford, Dec. 13th, of consumption, in the 44th year of his age.

Day by day we saw him fade

And gently sink away,

And often in our hearts we've prayed

That he might longer stay.

There is a light from our household gone,

The voice we loved is still,

A placed is vacant in our house

That never can be filled.

He has reached the joys of heaven,

He is one of the sainted band,

For his head a crown of gold is given,

And a harp is in his hand.

He called his friends all up at night

And bid them all good bye,

And then he vanished from our sight;

To that sweet home on high.

BY HIS BROTHER
