Wilhelm?s trip originated in Tauberbischofsheim, Baden Germany. The ships log shows Wilhelm Wurtz, Sr., Wilhelm Wurtz, Jr., and Peter Wurtz. Wilhelm and Wihlem, Jr. are shown living in Philadelphia in the 1754 Pennsylvania Census. Wilhelm was naturalized on April 10, 1761 in Philadelphia, and was shown living in Lancaster, Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. Peter was naturalized in 1755 in New Jersey. Wilhelm arrived in Loudoun County, Virginia around 1767 according to Loudoun County, Virginia Tax List. On November 27, 1772 Wilhelm leased 100 acres from George William Fairfax near Dutchmans Run called Piedmont in Shelburne Parish, Loudoun County, Virginia, Deed Book 71-73. 1782 Applied for relief from taxes and levies due to age and infirmities, Loudoun County, Virginia. Burried in the New Jeruselum Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA, Row KK, Stone 3. Stone shows "Virtzs, Peter, d. 22 May 1798, at 60y 1m 9d." The below article is a notice of sale of Peter?s property in the Frederick-Herald, March 12, 1814. ?Whereon Peter Wirtz resided, about one mile and a half from John George?s mill, five miles from Harper?s Ferry, and six from Waterford in Loudoun County, Virginia. This tract contains about one hundred and thirty six acres of prime land, about thirty six will timbered and the remainder cleared. The improvements in the plantation are a dwelling house with two rooms, a large barn with convenient stables. There is also upon a tract a never failing spring, with a milk house near the dwelling and a creek running through the farm, so that the fields may be well watered. In addition to these improvements there are two large apple orchards which produce the most useful and approved kinds of fruit, also a variety of other fruit trees. Persons wishing to purchase the above property will on application to the subscriber be shown the same-the terms are one-fifth of the purchase money in hand, and the remainder in four equal payments. Possession will be given on the 15th day of April excepting one room and the use of part of the kitchen until October next. Sale to commence at ten o?clock. Birth date and parents confimred from LDS library, file number 1985428 Last Will and Testament Conrad Virtz will, dated June 7, 1821: "Be it remembered that I Conard Virtz of Loudoun County calling to mind the uncertainty of this life and being desirous to dispose of my worldly Estate do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and four following viz. my will is that my eight children now living shall have equal shares of my estate that it is to be equally divided between Peter, John, William, Adam Virts and my Daughters Elizabeth, Caty, Barbary and Christinas after paying to my tow grandchildren, William and Betsy Virts children of my son Henry three hundred dollars each when they become of age, my four sons to have one hundred dollars each more than my Daughters; my will is that my Negros is not be sold unless they wish to be but to be divided amongst my children.
